If you love the mountains you might be interested in this article that was published in the Australia and New Zealand magazine in the UK some time ago. I hadn’t moved to the mountains then but had visited them in winter and summer for decades. Now they are my home and have been for ten years. As a photographer I am overwhelmed at the beauty of this place and my files are filled with images of its ever-changing scenery.
I love using my photographs to promote the area among my friends and family. This year I have branched out by publishing a wall calendar of the Snowy Mountains for 2021 and have been pleasantly surprised with the sales which shows there are many who, like me, believe this part of Australia is worth supporting.
“As we round the bend and catch the first sight of Lake Jindabyne it feels as if we are coming home. Below us the hilltops that used to surround the old town of Jindabyne poke through the waters as islands. Beyond, the main range of the Australian Alps stands as a sturdy backdrop against the deep blue of a cloudless sky.”

Australia Post is doing its best under difficult circumstances but it will only get busier as on-line orders increase with the approach of Christmas so do be prepared for longer delivery times than normal.
Talking of gift ideas, as well as the posters, there are many in my on-line shop including photographic prints, e-books, greeting cards and, of course, my calendars for 2021 both wall and desk. https://davidbigwoodpublishing.blog/shop/
Pop into my on-line store (https://davidbigwoodpublishing.blog/shop/) to browse through the many items stocked. You will find calendars for walls or desks, greeting cards, postcards, fine art prints, posters, e-books etc, etc. If you have any questions, please use the form under the ‘Contact’ tab to email me.
Just a reminder for those wishing to take advantage of the saving offered by the pre-publication price for the 2021 Snowy Mountains Wall calendar, it is only a week until the special price expires on 15 July.
The calendar is all but ready and will be off to the printer next week so that distribution can start in August.
The Desk Calendar comes in a 12x14cm plastic case that converts into the stand for the calendar. It is not only suitable for use on a desk but also slips easily into a brief case or handbag. For the 2021 calendar we are also offering a refill for those who have previously bought the calendar complete with the plastic case.
To see details, click on the ‘Shop’ tab then select ‘Calendars’.
As usual towards the end of the year there will be a rash of 2021 calendars on offer, but I suspect that if you are after a calendar that includes even one picture from the Snowy Mountains you will be disappointed. But do not despair!
My Snowy Mountains Calendar for 2021 is being prepared right now with thirteen photos showcasing the beauty of our home area for you to hang in your own home or office or to send to family and friends so that they can share in the photogenic qualities of where we live.
The calendar will be printed in Australia in A4 size (21×29.7cms) on glossy paper and available in August. Its price will be $17-50 which includes postage and packing to Australian addresses. If you can order by 15 July, the pre-publication price is $15.
If you are interested but do not want to pay now, email me using the form under the ‘Contact’ tab above with ‘Calendar 1 July’ as the subject and I will remind you by email of the closing date of the pre-publication price.
I am a resident of the mountains and a regularly published photographer who has qualified as a Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS). My fine art prints hang in private collections in Australia, The United Kingdom, Canada, and the Cayman Islands. My images for publication are sold through a major on-line photo library.
If you want to promote our Snowy Mountains, then this should be the calendar for you.
